IICRC Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT) Courses

This IICRC-accredited Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT) course is designed to provide basic education for technicians and other materially interested parties in the science and practice of water damage restoration. This course will cover extraction, basic containment and basic mold procedures. This course is designed to teach non-restoration personnel that perform remediation work to give them a better concept of water damage, its effects and techniques for drying of structures. This course will give residential and commercial maintenance personnel the background to understand the procedures necessary to deal with water losses, sewer backflows and contamination such as mold.

The RTI hosts provided added motivational and inspiring daily messaging and an endless supply of food and drink to calm the nerves of the those who fear taking tests. Stupendous!

The location was at a Rainbow franchise in BelAir, Md and the accommodations were as good as you could ask for. The owner and his wife could have not been nicer! My only complaint would be that I thought there would be more hands-on training, but considering how much material that needs to be covered for the test, don’t know if there would be time anyway.

However the class should have been a little longer. People were a little lost at the end. I think we should have had the class Tues-Thurs and test on Friday when your mind is fresh. When you have to go over chapters and do exam on same day your brain is already fried.

However, the only draw back… An excellent instructor, keeps you focused, made his presentation interesting and at times fun. However, the only draw back a couple of us discussed is the time the course provides. This should be a four day course, with exam being taken on the morning of the fourth day. Prior to the test, one hour, we were still taking part of class work and being given additional information. It’s a lot of information, 170 pages to soak in two and a half days.
