Central Park Review – Katie Holmes
The Katie Holmes Central Park review is more about the good that comes out of a bad. You see, the problems with this movie are not so much the acting, but more of the writing and the overall theme of the film itself. The plot of the movie is a bit different than the other Holmes films, and it never gets explained why, but it is still a bit confusing as to what exactly is going on in the movie. This leads to many scenes that are predictable, and the acting never reaches its full potential.
Katie Holmes is an incredibly talented actress, but in this film she tries too hard to be a serious artiste. The romantic element of her character is entirely handled poorly, and it is never revealed whether or not she will be able to stay married to Daniel Day Lewis (the father of her son). No one is questioning her love for her family, but rather than take the chance and explore that side of her as well, she is happy to let the other man have all the romance. This is not the criticism of the characters; rather it is more of an observation of the actresses. In general, no one cares how great an actress is, but if they try to be something they are not, people will always question their ability.
Katie Holmes is not the best actresses out there, but she is probably one of the most talented. Her ability to play the part of a smart and worldly young woman is extremely endearing, and it helps that she manages to get the character entirely right. She is able to use her acting chops to great effect in this movie, and saves what could have been a mediocre movie at the very worst possible time. Holmes is an amazing actress, and this movie simply showcases her talents. Her final scene in Central Park is a high water mark for her career and should be experienced by anyone who is even remotely interested in what actors can do in a movie. site
